Hi, my name is Society Sam and I am the mascot of Society of American Miniaturists. The Society loves things small and wants to share the joy of miniatures with others. Let me tell you about S.A.M.....We are based in Texas but span the country. We are a nonprofit organization committed to the education and promotion of the art and hobby of miniatures. We welcome all miniaturists, artisans and collectors. We strive to increase awareness in miniatures and promote the love of the hobby and art.
Ttwice a year we meet for our Wonderful Workshop Weekend and business meeting. . Usually we meet the first weekend after Labor Day. The year 2010 we will meet in Temple, TX on September 17-19. We also meet in the Spring for our SAM's Birthday Party. The location rotates between Houston, Dallas/ Ft. Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Corpus Christi.
We encourage members to interest the youth of their area by starting children's miniature clubs. We offer funds to help with the start.
